How can you use a cowhide?
A cowhide is a beautiful addition to any interior, which is both versatile to use and gives you a luxurious look. The beauty of these natural skins is that you can seamlessly combine them with different interior styles from classic to modern and from rural to industrial. Below are some ways of how you can use them:
As a rug: The most common use of a cowhide is as a rug, they are not only stylish but also bring a luxurious feel to any room. Place a rug under your coffee table in the living room or next to your bed in the bedroom to add a warm, soft touch. Thanks to its many variations, a cow rug fits perfectly into a variety of interior styles, from classic to modern and from rural to industrial.
For upholstering furniture: For the creative among us, a cowhide is perfect for further processing. They are often used to upholster furniture such as chairs and sofas, providing an exclusive and durable finish. Thanks to the smooth tanning and a thickness of +/- 2 - 4 mm, the skins are easy to process and turn each piece of furniture into a unique designer piece.
For making accessories: In addition, a cowhide is an excellent material for making various accessories. Think of pillows, coasters, bags, and even (LARP) costumes. Let your creativity run wild and create unique items that add a personal touch to your interior or wardrobe.
As a tapestry: Do you really want to add something unique to your interior? Then consider using a cowhide as a tapestry. This offers a unique alternative to traditional paintings and creates a striking focal point in your living room, hallway or bedroom.
For outdoor use*: Although cowhides can also be used outdoors, it is important to keep them dry. In an enclosed greenhouse, the hide can stay fine, but in rainy weather or in the evenings, it is recommended to bring the cowhide inside. This is because leather is sensitive to moisture.

An unmatched quality of natural cowhides
For me it is all about the passion for leather. To be able to offer you the best quality, the cow skins are personally and carefully hand selected by me. More beautiful specimens simply do not exist. Constantly I am looking for the best skins from the meat industry where the cows have lived in the wild. Hides and furs come from Europe and South America. This is where the finest and best quality cowhides in the world are produced.
The bristles of cowhides are nice and soft and the leather supple, unlike many other (cheaper) skins on the market that can be quite stiff. The tanneries we work with ensure that the hides are neatly tanned and any odors neutralized.
Why choose a cowhide with me?
Constantly I am looking for the best hides from the meat industry where the cows have lived in the wild. The cowhides come from Europe and South America and are a by-product of the meat industry. The meat industry unfortunately cannot do anything with the hides so they were often just thrown away. By having the hides tanned, they get a second life and nothing is lost.

Tips for maintaining your cowhide
A cowhide needs little to no maintenance but maybe you recognize it, you have a nice one lying around, you accidentally drop a glass of drink on it. Or people come over for dinner but everyone runs over it with their mud shoes, ouch! To keep your cows in top condition I regularly get questions about how best to maintain and clean them. On cleaning / maintaining cowhide you can read the detailed instructions on how to maintain them. Prefer an abbreviated version? You can read it on animal skin care.
